Prasad Perera is a Registered Architect with the NSW Architects Registration Board and the Director of dp Design Studio Pty Ltd and Daylo Build Pty Ltd. He brings architecture, interior design, planning approvals and construction together through one integrated service.
With extensive experience across residential and commercial projects throughout Sydney, Prasad combines creative design thinking with practical construction knowledge. He is known for his responsive, hands-on approach and commitment to efficient coordination and quick project turnaround.
As both a Registered Architect and Licensed Builder, Prasad understands how to balance design quality, functionality, buildability, budget and long-term value. From the initial concept through approvals, consultant coordination, interior design and construction, he provides clients with clear communication, professional guidance and confidence at every stage.

"My design philosophy is centred on creating meaningful, sustainable spaces that enhance health, wellbeing and the way people connect with one another and their surroundings.
I believe good architecture should balance beauty with functionality, comfort, buildability and long-term value. Every project should respond thoughtfully to its occupants, location, natural light, ventilation, landscape and environmental conditions rather than following a standard formula.
Where appropriate, I incorporate biophilic design, Vastu, Feng Shui and selected ancient spatial philosophies into contemporary architecture to encourage balance, tranquillity and a stronger connection with nature.
As both a Registered Architect and Licensed Builder, I approach every design with creativity and practical construction knowledge. My goal is to create distinctive spaces that are environmentally responsible, commercially realistic and genuinely improve the lives of those who experience them."

What Drew You to Architecture, Interior and Construction?
To transform ideas into meaningful spaces that positively influence how people live, work and feel.
My passion is to create sustainable, thoughtfully designed environments that strengthen the connection between people, nature and the spaces they experience every day. I am also interested in thoughtfully integrating Vastu, Feng Shui, biophilic design and selected ancient spatial philosophies with contemporary architecture.
Working as both a Registered Architect and Licensed Builder allows me to carry a client’s vision from the first concept through approvals and construction. It is incredibly rewarding to see an idea become a completed space that improves wellbeing, supports everyday life and delivers lasting value.
What Projects Do You Enjoy the Most?
I most enjoy projects where architecture can genuinely improve the way people live, work and connect with their surroundings. This includes bespoke new homes, major renovations, extensions, interior transformations and thoughtfully designed commercial spaces.
I particularly enjoy challenging projects where the site, planning controls or client requirements call for a creative and practical solution. Whether transforming an outdated property, designing a sustainable family home or delivering a complete commercial project, I enjoy guiding the client from the initial idea through approvals and construction.
The most rewarding projects are those where we create something distinctive, functional and meaningful while making the entire process as clear, efficient and stress-free as possible for the client.
Why Do You Operate Both a Design Practice and a Building Company?
I established both dp Design Studio and Daylo Build to provide clients with a more coordinated and accountable approach—from the first design idea through approvals and construction.
Too often, a project loses its original vision when design and construction are managed separately. By bringing architectural knowledge and practical building experience together, we can identify potential construction issues earlier, provide clearer and more realistic cost guidance, improve communication and minimise unnecessary delays and variations.
Clients can engage us for design and approvals only, or choose our complete Registered Architect-led Design + Approval + Build service. This integrated approach provides one trusted point of contact, greater continuity and a smoother, less stressful journey from concept to completion.
What Is the Most Rewarding Part of Your Work?
The most rewarding part of my work is seeing a client’s vision develop from an initial idea into a completed space that genuinely improves their everyday life.
I enjoy guiding clients through what can otherwise be a complicated and stressful process, giving them clarity, confidence and practical support from design through approvals and construction. Seeing their excitement when they finally experience the finished space is incredibly fulfilling.
For me, architecture is not simply about creating attractive buildings. It is about designing sustainable, meaningful environments that support wellbeing, strengthen human connection and deliver lasting value for the people who use them.
